Richie Targanox is a professional water polo player from Tucker Island. He currently plays for Debrecen in Hungary's top water polo league, Orszagos Bajnoksag.

Career[]

Targanox rose from virtual obscurity to water polo stardom in his final year at Tucker Academy. Under the tutelage of coach Bentamin Robitaille, Targanox rose from being a reserve player to team captain and leading scorer. He most notably scored all 17 goals in Tucker Island's 17-0 victory over The Conway School (Burtonville, South Carolina) in 2016, leading the team to it's 29th consecutive league championship.

After graduating from Tucker Academy, Targanox signed a contract with Debrecen in Hungary's Orszagos Bajnoksag, though he has yet to appear for the team.

Personal Life[]

In 2016, Targanox was named a Tucker Academy Notable Alumni, becoming the first water polo player in school history to receive that honor.

Once an unabashed atheist, Targanox is now a practicing Catholic. He credits Tucker Island's Father Sebastian Portola for igniting his religious awakening.
